Google создал интерактивную схему мировой торговли оружием
«Корпорация Добра» не так давно сообщила о намерении использовать технологии для наблюдения за/борьбы с наркоторговцами, торговцами людьми и оружием. Понятно, что такая новость удивила многих, ведь Google не является организацией по борьбе с организованной преступностью. Теперь схема понемногу проясняется: инженеры Google не будут лично ездить по городам и весям, отлавливая преступников.
Нет, корпорация, используя разного рода информацию, создает визуальные интерактивные модели, которые могут служить для определения направлений торговли указанным «товаром», включая оружие, наркотики, и да, людей. Пока что готова схема для торговли оружием. Интересный факт: согласно данных Google, около 60% всех насильственных смертей по миру являются следствием использования оружия легкого калибра.

Использование схемы не очень сложное: стоит выбрать страну, кликнув на соответствующем регионе, и мы увидим подсвеченные линии — основные пути поступления в страну оружия, и пути выхода оружия из страны. Голубые линии — импорт оружия, красные — экспорт.
Чем ярче линия, тем больше «пропускная способность» такой линии, тем больше оружия идет по такой линии. Есть и фильтры, позволяющие отображать только поставки боеприпасов, поставки «военного», или только «гражданского» оружия. Фильтров достаточно много.
